Hostmonster or Godaddy to start website?

Hostmonster has a .95 deal with free domain name and many other features. Want to start a website which has people log in to comment or whatever, want them to be members…Hostmonster has a forum addon as well and seems pretty good. Any input?

Chosen Answer:

Hostmonster is a good webhost.

I have used about a dozen different hosts over the years. I am not a fan of GoDaddy. The few websites I have hosted with GoDaddy have been very slow to load, and it always seemed like the server was down.

Blue Host, Host Monster, and Just Host are probably the better of the well known web hosts. All three have great customer service and their servers are reliable.

I recommend one of these: http://www.webhostinglist.org/

iPage has a 50% discount right now.

They’re one of the oldest web hosting companies, founded 1998, also one of the largest, currently hosting over a million websites.

    Their hosting plan includes:
    - Free domain name (.com, .net, .org)
    - Unlimited storage and bandwidth
    - Unlimited email addresses per domain name

They also include a couple of way free point & click online site builder so you can create a website without any programming (easily, just by drag and drop) or you could install WordPress (they include an easy, one click install of WordPress from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content. They also have membership plugin and a lot of other plugins.
